This is place is only good for hard core trekkers or wildlife guys who have the patience and are ready to bear the heat . This places is really very hot .
Stay at chandana resort at marayoor .DO not stay at munnar if you have come to this place only for trekker and wildlife. If you stay at munnar your resort guy can charge you anywhere between 2000-4000 rupeer to visit this palace and you will be disappointed as there is nothing to do or see .But if you have the patience and hire a car (this is the best way to move around this palace) i did see some foreigners crammed into a rickshaw making their way up the ghats (dangerous curvy roads) not a pleasant way to travel in these parts . A good taxi should charge you 1000 rupeers for 80 km and 9-10 rupees for every extra kilometer above 80 km.This place is 65km from munnar town so you are going to be doing 130 km to and fro from munnar town taking 4 hours (2 and a half hours to the WLS) .
Chinnar is accessible from Kochi(208 km.) and Coimbatore (115 km.) airports along main roads. The Munnar-Udumalpet road that passes through the sanctuary divides it into more or less equal parts.Munnar, the major tourists center,is 60km.from chinnar. The nearest town is Marayur or Marayoor .
