Zhep is proud to have carried 3500 members in Trans Himalayan Expeditions, which is a high altitude trekking programme in the mountains of Himachal, Garhwal and Nepal. We have been pioneers in Pune city to organise the Dhauladhar Winter trek in Himachal. –The relationships forged through challenges shared on high mountains is enduring, joyous and emotional.
We have also organised Rajgad Shramadan Yojana, lectures, slide shows on nature, ecology, history and blood donation camps. This is the proof of our strong community involvement.

MANI MAHESH GLACIER
A hair raising but spectacular bus journey along a fairly precarious road up the Ravi river takes us to Bharmour, base camp of the Mani Mahesh glacier. Bharmour, the ancient capital of the Pahari kings is situated at an height of 7,500ft. Bharmour famous for its ancient ‘Chaurasi’ or 84 temples is surrounded by many passes adjoining the Lahual, the Spiti and the Kangra districts, high altitude glacial lakes, green alpine pastures, pine forests, snow clad mountains of the Himalayas. This calm and quiet place is worth exploring. Away from the hustle and bustle, Bharmour is a paradise for trek lovers.
The most popular and easily accessible trekking route is to the Mani Mahesh Lake at an height of 14,400ft. From the green
pastures of Dancho, along the high mountain walls one can trek to Mani Mahesh glacier with minimum efforts and high benefits of chilling out in snow, slide down on the ski slopes, erect snow men, throwing snowballs or just sit leisurely gazing at the ever changing and colourful landscape of nature. The adventurous ones can climb up Mani Mahesh lake, at the base of ‘Mt. Kailash’, which is the highest and sacred lake in the Dhauladhar Himal.
