Trek Mates India tour to Kerala.


Hey Mates, its now more than two years that Trek Mates India has been organising Treks and Adventures for all the Adventure lovers from Mumbai, Pune, Nasik and the nearby cities… We also have a few members travelling all the way from Rajasthan, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata, etc., for attending our events.

But have we all ever considered our parents for such kind of events?? Rather are they capable, or even interested in such kind of activities???

We at Trek Mates India, thought about this, and then came at a decision to bring up something for them as well. Something that they will be interested in. Something where their interest lies. Some outing that they will like to go for. So, here we go for it.


Trek Mates India brings to you a tour to one of the most photographic locations of India; Kerala – Kanyakumari dated from 7th to 16th Jan 2012.




The itinerary for the tour will be as follows:

Day 1 (7th Jan, Saturday):
Ø      Meet at Thane station at 11.30 am.
Ø      Start train journey from Thane to Ernakulum by Netravati express – 16345 (thane stn: 12.10 pm).

Day 2 (8th Jan, Sunday):
Ø      Reach Ernakulum, Kochin by 2.00 pm, check in at hotel, fresh up, lunch.
Ø      Shopping in the evening, stay at the hotel.

Day 3 (9th Jan, Monday):
Ø      Visit Harbour cruise, Chinese Fishing nets, st. Francis church, Dutch palace, sene gogas, and travel till Munnar.
Ø      Check in at hotel at Munnar.

Day 4 (10th Jan, Tuesday):
Ø      Visit Echo point, Tea gardens, Mattupetti Dam, etc.
Ø      Stay at Munnar.

Day 5 (11th Jan, Wednesday):
Ø      Travel towards Periyaar, Boating in Periyaar National park, shopping in Kumily spice village.
Ø      Check in at hotel.

Day 6 (12th Jan, Thursday):
Ø      Travel towards Trivandrum, enroute visit Alleppey Backwater
Ø      Check in and Stay at Trivandrum

Day 7 (13th Jan, Friday):
Ø      Visit the famous Padmanabha swami temple followed by Raja Ravi Verma Art Gallery, Zoo.
Ø      Travel towards Kanykumari.
Ø      Check in and stay at Kanyakumari

Day 8 (14th Jan, Saturday):
Ø      Visit the world Famous Swami Vivekanand rock memorial, Kanyakumari devi temple, Gandhi mandap.
Ø      Travel towards Trivendrum. Enroute visit kowlam beach.
Ø      Check in and stay at Trivendrum

Day 9 (15th Jan, Sunday):
Ø      Start train journey from Trivendrum to Mumbai by Netravati express – 16346 (Trivendrum stn: 10.00 am).

Day 10 (16th Jan, Monday):
Ø      Reach Thane station by 4.30 pm.


The Charges for the Tour will be as follows:
Rs 14200/- Per head
for sleeper class Train Tickets from thane to Ernakulum and Trivendrum to Thane.


Rs 15800/- Per head
for 3rd AC Train Tickets from thane to Ernakulum and Trivendrum to Thane.


Rs 13200/- Per head
without Train Tickets.


The Charges Include:
Ø      Travelling from Mumbai to Mumbai by train,
Ø      Travel by non AC bus while in the tour,
Ø      Stay at Non AC deluxe rooms and Vegetarian food facilities at our respective hotels,
Ø      Entry fees where ever required.


What is not included:
Ø      Food while train travelling
Ø      Mineral water/ cold drinks
Ø      Camera fees for the park
Ø      Any extra food/snacks if you order.
Ø      Anything apart from that mentioned in the ‘Include’ list.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1 : Assemble(From Mumbai or respective location) at Srinagar (By Air)
            Srinagar – Kargil (By road)
               
After reaching Srinagar. We ll move towards Leh. Reach Sonmarg check post which opens for a duration of 5 hours in the morning. Enjoy the picturesque view of snow capped mountains with our army jawans standing tall against all. Reach Kargil.
Evening will be free for leisure activities around. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2 : Kargil – Lamayuru – Alchi – Magnetic Hill – Leh
Early morning after breakfast, we leave for Leh.  Enroute visit Lamayuru, where we tour the Lamayuru monastery. Also called the Yung-drung (Swastika) monastery, Lamayuru is one of the oldest monasteries in Central Ladakh. Further drive to Alchi, located 70 kms west of Leh and Megnatic hill, Hall of fame, Sangam of Indus and Zanskar rivers, Basgo fort. 
Alchi monastery and the nearby village considered one of the most well preserved Buddhist centers of Ladakh, the Alchi monastery has beautiful paintings on its walls, which are examples of early Buddhist art. In Alchi village you can see the rural lifestyle of the villagers including activities such as grinding wheat etc. Drive to Leh with overnight at hotel.

Day 3 : Indus Valley Monastery Sight seeing
After breakfast we leave for a tour of the Hemis Gompa. This monastery is the best known in Ladakh. Around the monastery you will see Chortens or Buddhist reliquaries and ornate walls. On the way back to Leh we will visit Thiksey Monastery. This is situated on a mountain from where you can see panoramic views of the Indus Valley. 
Within the monastery you can see many beautiful Buddhist artifacts. We then leave for the Shey Palace, which was the summer palace of the royal family of Ladakh. Return to your hotel to stay overnight.
Day 4 : Drive Leh to Nubra Valley , Khardung La Pass
After breakfast depart for Nubra valley that goes through the highest motorable pass in the world at Khardung-la ( 5602 Mts.). enroute visit Diskit Gompa and late in the evening enjoy the camel riding at Hunder by Bacterian Camels across the sand dunes. Visit village Hunder and Gompa among lots of trees and mingling streams. Overnight stay in Camps or Guest House
Day 5 : Drive back from Nubra Valley to Leh via Penamik

After early breakfast drive back to Leh via Penamik and Samstangling Monastery.  In penamik you can vitness the hot spring. This medicinal hot water is very good for joint pains and skin dessies. On the way also vist Samtangling gompa. It is branch of the Rizong gomp and newly built and on of the beautiful monastry around Leh. Meals and overnight stay in Guest House at Leh.

 

Day 6 : Pangong Lake trip
 
After an early breakfast we drive for around 4 hrs to Pangong Lake. Located at an altitude of 14,000 ft, Pangong Lake is approached by a road that crosses the Chang La Pass (18,000 ft.) and scenic villages. Explore the 250km long lake, which is divided by the Indo-Chinese border. 1/3 of the lake is in India and rest comes under the Chinese territory. 
We also see the settlements of the Chang Pa tribe, who are nomadic herdsmen who migrate from Ladakh to Tibet and back, as the seasons change through the year. Drive back to Leh (4hrs). Meal and overnight stay in Guest House at Leh.






Day 7 : Fly to Mumbai or Respective locations
We will be transferred in time to the airport to catch the flight to respective location.
