The 6 day trip involves a mix of everything that you would want in a holiday, so look up our planned schedule and mark the dates on your calendar and join us!
Day 1: Leave from Mumbai at 8 am and head out for Ganpatiphule. We are staying in a homestay in Kotwade, near Ganpatiphule where the estate is on the banks of the river Kusum. Surrounded in the lush greens, it will be a welcome change from the urban chaos that we have left behind. Head out to the Ganpati Phule beach and the adjoining temple to watch the sunset and this will be just the beginning of things.
Day 2: We leave for Malvan post Breakfast at 9 am. Reaching there around noon, we can settle into the super comfortable homestay. Head out for a boatride to the Sindudurg fort or a quiet afternoon in the Gumbde village for some birdwatching. Vengurla beach is a much see at a distance of 40 kms from here. we will check out the lighthouse there and the beach here is a spectacle. White sands and not a soul around!! a dip is a prerequisite in its clean waters.
Day 3:We stay on at the homestay but we set out to the calm banks of the Dhamapur Lake post breakfast. There is a beautiful temple on it shores and so one can get some quiet moments there. Getting a book along or spending a few moments with oneself is a great thought on the banks of the lake. We drive next to Pinguli a small village near Kudal to watch the orignal pupeteers of Pinguli in action for a show put up for us! The curtains will rise and you will be spellbound in world of these wooden dolls and their wide eyed antics. We plan to get back to Malvan post that.
Day 4: We move to Tarkarli, where we will be staying in beach cottages right on the beach. palm trees and hammocks will be constant companions apart from the roar from the sea. A morning cruise along the Trakarli backwaters is planned and once back from there, we can engage in some parasailing or just a day to splash around the water!!
Day 5: A 2 hour drive will get us to Kolhapur, where we will spend the next day. A homestay will host us here and we can check out local sites! Rankala Lake, The New Palace and Mahalaxmi temple will make for some good getaways and we can come back and relax in the lawns of then homestay.
Day 6: Post breakfast and some local shopping(everybody loves a pair of Kolhapuris), we can head back to Mumbai after spicy Kohapuri lunch!!!
We are expecting to be back by 9 pm to the city.
