Aasamant Jungle Safari to Tadoba & Bor National Park May 16, 2012

Tadoba is located in Chandrapur district – Vidharbha region. Tadoba is also one of the India’s 28 Projects for Tiger Reserve.
The Tadoba National Park is consisting two forest rectangles of the Tadoba and Andhari Range. Tadoba National Park has Indian wildlife such as Tigers, Leopards, Sloth Bears, Gaur, Wild Dogs, Hyenas, Civet and Jungle cats, and many species of Indian deer like Sambar, Cheetal, Nilgai, and Barking Deer. Tadoba also has a lake which sustains the Marsh Crocodile, which were once common in all over Maharashtra. Lake is the main attractions of the park, as it is natural habitat of many water birds like Cattle Egrets, Purple Moorhens and Jacanas. The mesmerizing trails of Tadoba could be a treasured experience of a lifetime.

Bor Wildlife Sanctuary is a renowned sanctuary in the state of Maharashtra. The sanctuary is located in Hingni in Wardha of Vidarbha region of the state.
Bor Wildlife Sanctuary is home to a rich variety of fauna species that include the mammals, reptiles and birds. The species like Tiger, Chinkara are the main attractions of the sanctuary. Some of the other vital and noteworthy mammal fauna species found in the sanctuary includes Panther, Nilgai (Blue Bull), Sambar, Barking Deer, Wild Boar, Bear, Wild Dog, Wild Cat, Bison, Chital, Peacock, Monkey, etc. The sanctuary is also quite famous for its rich avifauna that includes both the resident and migratory types of birds.

TMI: Wildlife Safari tour to Bandhavgarh

Hi Mates, we at Trek Mates India are glad to invite you for a wildlife tour to Bandhavgarh, Madhya Pradeshin the summers, for it is the best season to watch the animals while they come out of the dense forest in search of water, which is provided in the man made waterholes, near the Safari roads.

Tour 1:  8th March to 11th March 2012 (starting on 7thnight by 11.30 pm)
Tour 2:  5th April to 8th April 2012 (starting on 4thnight by 11.30 pm)

Some information regarding the place and the tour:

Bandhavgarh National Park is one of the most popular national parks in India located in the Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh. Bandhavgarh was declared as a national park in 1968 with an area of 105 km². The buffer is spread over the forest divisions of Umaria and Katni and totals 437 km². The park derives its name from the most prominent hillock of the area, which is said to be given by Hindu Lord Rama to his brother Lakshmana to keep a watch on Lanka (Ceylon). Hence the name Bandhavgarh (Sanskrit: Brother’s Fort).

Bandhavgarh shot into fame with Charger and Sita sightings in mid nineties, ever since there has been no looking back for this national park in MP. The Tiger density in the Tala zone of this park puts rest of the parks to shame. A rare jewel as far as Tiger sightings are concerned, Bandhavgarh attracted lot of media attention for the number of Tigers one would see in each Safari. Tourists would come out of the park saying they saw 4, some 5, some even 6 in just one safari. Sounds unbelievable, but it is 100% true.



The itinerary for the tour will be as follows:

Day 1, Wednesday night:
Ø  Meeting point: CST station, 11.30 pm

Day 2, Thursday:
Ø  Reach Jabalpur Station by 4. 20 pm
Ø  Travel till Bandhavgarh by our private vehicle
Ø  Check in at hotel, dinner, rest

Day 3, Friday:
Ø  Early Morning Safari and back to hotel by 10 am
Ø  Breakfast, rest, Lunch
Ø  Evening safari
Ø  Enjoy folk dance
Ø  Dinner, rest

Day 4, Saturday:
Ø  Early Morning Safari and back to hotel by 10 am
Ø  Breakfast, Play some group games, Lunch
Ø  Evening safari
Ø  Dinner (carry pack dinner if possible),
Ø  start back journey, Travel by private vehicle till Jabalpur station
Ø  Board 11.20 pm train(Chapra express)

Day 5, Sunday
Ø  Reach Mumbai by 4.08 pm.

Today Bandhavgarh, in Madhya Pradesh, India, has the highest density of tigers in the world making it just the best tourism destination. Bandhavgarh National Park is one place where you certain of seeing a tiger in its natural habitat. It is in this valley where white tiger was found.

Explore :

The original home of all the white tigers alive, today, Bandhavgarh was the hunting preserve of the Maharajas of Rewa: their old fort still dominates a hill rising out of the forest. These have been found in the old state of Rewa for many years. The last known was captured by Maharajah Martand Singh in 1951. This White Tiger, Mohan, is now stuffed and on display in the palace of the Maharajas of Rewa.

Facts :

Prior to becoming a National park, the forest around Bandhavgarh had long been maintained as a Shikargah, or game preserve, of the Maharajahs of Rewa. Hunting was carried out by the Maharajahs and their guests – otherwise the wildlife was relatively well-protected. It was considered a good omen for a Maharajah of Rewa to shoot 109 Tigers. His highness Maharajah Venkat Raman Singh shot 111 Tigers by 1914.
